Liston Studios has provided custom designs for both direct to customer and retail clients for 35 years. The first years focused on textiles specializing in print design before exploring ceramics as a new medium specializing in glazed surface design. Recently inspired to revisit textiles once again, the studio can provide both textile and ceramic designs to create a unique experience through coordinating both mediums.

Our custom textile design process begins with a consultation to explore your vision and establish a theme. Your input guides every step as we create hand-painted designs on paper. After, the designs are digitized and the studio fine-tunes the colors and patterns to ensure seamless repeats. From there, the design is ready for either high-speed rotary printing or bespoke digital printing, tailored to your needs.
The ceramic art is created one piece at a time. The pieces are hand-painted. There is no tracing or use of stencils. They truly are a work in progress. Once the design is painted on the shape, a clear coat of glaze covers the entire piece. This overglaze is what may sometimes “crackle” over time. High heat from dishwashing can accelerate this effect. This is only cosmetic.
